Lines
These are the kitchen utensils that are hanging from a rack from the ceiling. It includes whisks and ladles. I think it's clear these are kitchen tools.
Simplicity
These are lemons that the Chef instructor cut into shapes in the class in front of the students. I think it's clear these are lemons and there is nothing in the background to distract the eye..
Avoiding Mergers
The yellow is another lemon cut and the red rose is a tomato that has been cut by the Chef with lettuce underneath. The red to the side is a bag or bucket on the counter. I avoided a merger by keeping part of the plate and lettuce visible between the tomato and the bag/bucket.Framing
The subject is the Chef's hands cutting a lemon. The frame is 2 students that were between me and the Chef. So you can't tell the frame, but you can tell the subject.
Balance
The subject are cake tools used to cut or insert to shape a cake. I could have gone at a different angle to make the subject visible from a different angle and probably could have included the cake pans you can barely see to the right. This might have helped people know what they were more easily.Rule of Thirds
The subject is baskets that have been stacked on a shelf. If I had moved a bit more to the right and had more of an angle or backed up (not zoomed) so you could also see more of the baskets and the shelf they were stacked on.
